Terms & conditions

These terms explain how we work together when KennedyTech builds and looks after your website. If anything here isn't clear, just ask - email sean@kennedytech.co.uk.

Who we are

KennedyTech (“we”, “us”) is a website design business based in Scotland, founded and run by Sean Kennedy. You can reach us at sean@kennedytech.co.uk. [Company registration details, if applicable: Company No. [number], registered address [address].]

What we do

We design and build websites for small businesses (a one-off build), and we offer optional monthly care plans to host, maintain and update your site after it's live. What's included at each price is shown on our website and confirmed in your order.

Quotes and pricing

Our prices are shown openly on our website. The price we agree with you before starting is the price you pay for the work described - no hidden extras. Any work beyond what's agreed (for example a large new section) will be quoted and agreed with you first.

Payment

• A deposit is payable before we begin your build; the balance is due when your site is ready to go live. The exact amounts are set out in your quote.
• Care plans are paid monthly in advance, normally by Direct Debit, starting from the day your site goes live.
• If a payment is missed we may pause work or, for care plans, suspend services until it's brought up to date. We'll always contact you first.

What we need from you

To build your site we need accurate information and content (text, images, logos) and any approvals in good time. You confirm you own or have permission to use anything you send us. Delays in getting this to us may push back your go-live date.

Revisions

Your build includes one round of changes to your preview before it goes live. Further changes after launch are covered by a care plan, or can be quoted separately if you're not on one.

Ownership

Once your build is paid for in full, you own your website, its content and your domain name - all registered in your name. There is no lock-in. The reusable templates, components and code we use to build many sites remain ours and are licensed to you as part of your site, not sold or assigned; this never affects your ownership of your own content, design and domain.

Your domain name

We register your domain in your name. While you're on a care plan we renew it for you as part of the plan. If you leave, the domain stays yours to take with you.

Care plans and cancellation

Care plans run monthly with no minimum term. You can cancel at any time by giving [30 days'] notice. On cancellation we'll provide a full export of your website so you can move it elsewhere, and hand over your domain. Hosting, updates and support end when the plan ends.

“Site by KennedyTech” credit

We include a small “Site by KennedyTech” credit in the footer of sites we build. If you'd prefer to remove it, that's available for a one-off fee - just ask.

Liability

We take care to build reliable, working websites, but we can't guarantee your site will always be free of faults or never go offline (for example due to third-party hosting issues). To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website is the current one, and we'll tell existing care-plan clients about any significant changes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [Scotland] and subject to its courts.
